One of the lovely aspects of staying at Colwith (apart from the amazing view from the living room!) is that you can do so many fabulous walks straight from the from door. Heading down the hill through the estate you can have a morning coffee at Chesters by the River www.chestersbytheriver.co.uk(where you can now pick up some yummy take-away cakes & food for your treck!) then set off on all number of walks over the fells. A favourite of ours is one which goes via Colwith Force round to the Three Shires Inn at Little Langdale www.threeshiresinn.co.uk(great beers & food….fabulous real chips !!) then over the tops via Wilsons Place to Elterwater & home along the River Brathay to Skelwith Bridge. Walking up the hill from the front door to the stop of the Neaum Crag Eatate ¬†another favourite is round the back of Loughrigg Tarn and onward to Loughrigg terrace overlooking the amazing views of Grasmere lake & Rydal Water. We often drop down to the lakeside of Grasmere here & enjoy a dip in the water (paddling of course!). ¬†www.wheretowalk.co.uk. Enjoy!!
