Christmas in the Lakes

When it comes to and idyllic English countryside Christmas, you really can’t ask for more than the Lake Dsitrict offers. Waking up to an amazing, frost-rimed view across the valley from Colwith, a hearty Lakeland breakfast, getting wrapped up in woolens for a brisk walk and perhaps a mulled wine at a country pub in the afternoon to warm up.

The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway also runs the wonderful Santa Express, a must for families with young children, and for the big kids too. Take an old fashioned steam train ride through beautiful country side and wait with baited breath for Santa to call at your compartment. Book here:
