Strawberry Bank lies to the east of Lake Windemere and the surrounding area makes for a beautiful day’s walking. While the occasional rain shower might be a possibility at this time of year, it certainly makes the landscape particularly lush and verdant. The moss in the woods is especially striking.
The area also boasts some spectacular views over the Lakeland fells, with near 360° views from some points of Cartmel fell.
The Mason Arms located at Strawberry Bank is also to be very highly recommended. The garden has fantastic views over the Winster valley and the pub has just won the Pub of the Year 2012 award for the North West. Visit their website here.
