Attractions
Here are
a
selection
of
helpful

- Walking to Ambleside over the fells (about 2 miles
of relatively easy walking) and getting a taxi back if
necessary (about £8.50 for a car-load)
- Walking to the superb Britannia Inn at Elterwater on
an easy path past the picturesque lake
- Walking to Loughrigg Tarn (which can be seen just
minutes away) and if desired on to Loughrigg Fell and
Loughrigg Terrace with its stunning views and down to
the bustling village of Grasmere with its shops, tea
rooms and pubs, etc.
- The pub quiz (and the shoulders of lamb) at
Wainwrights Inn at Chapel Stile just a couple of miles
away
- Slowly cruising around Coniston Water on a little
motor boat
- Climbing Scafell Pikes from the end of Langdale,
preferably on a pleasant day and reaching the highest
point in England! (Langdale Pikes, Coniston Old Man and
Helvellyn are all only a stone’s throw away)
